Since then, it has been a familiar symbol of Ginza. During the remodeling of Ginza Mitsukoshi in 1968, the Shise Jizo, which had been placed on the street, was moved to the Terrace Garden on the ninth floor of Ginza Mitsukoshi. The name “Succession Jizo” is a reference to the fact that it was moved from the street to the roof of the department store. Next to the hall where the Dezase Jizo is enshrined is a large and charming alter ego statue by sculptor Nobuyoshi Iwashiro.
