Similarly, a bowl of rice topped with a bowl of tuna and sushi rice is called a &#8220;tetsubi-don. Tekka&#8221; refers to the reddish color of iron heated to a high temperature, and the name &#8220;Tekka-don&#8221; is said to have come from the &#8220;red and spicy&#8221; taste of the Tekka-maki with wasabi added. Another theory is that the word &#8220;tetsubi&#8221; originated from the fact that these seaweed rolls were often eaten at gambling halls. The name &#8220;Tekkaiba&#8221; comes from the fact that people who were absorbed in gambling would often pick up a tuna nori-maki with one hand and eat it during the game.
