It is said that if you eat rice cakes roasted over the fire, you will live a year with good health and good fortune.<br \/>\nAt the Torigoe Shrine&#8217;s Tondo Yaki festival, after the priest ignites the flint stones, the fire burns vigorously, and children surround the area, pounding the ground with green bamboo in their hands while calling out &#8220;Dondo, Dondo, Dondo&#8221;. Afterwards, bamboos with rice cakes tied to them are distributed.
