This is a traditional event that has continued since the Edo period and is held in conjunction with the &#8220;Okaeshiki&#8221; ceremony held on the anniversary of the death of the founder of Nichiren Shoshu. A market is set up in front of the temple gate and many stalls are set up.<\/p>\n<p>In the early Edo period when Seki&#8217;s rag market began, farm equipment and New Year&#8217;s goods were sold and purchased by nearby farmers. In the Meiji period (1868-1912), old clothes and rags began to be sold, and the market became known as a &#8220;rag market.<br \/>\nCurrently, there are stalls of various genres, including antiques, used books, toys, and food.<\/p>\n<p>The Manto-gyo (parade of lanterns) held on the evening of the second day is a must-see.
