A wide variety of chrysanthemums are displayed in the precincts of the shrine, centering on &#8220;kakegai,&#8221; or hanging cliffs, and &#8220;bonniwa,&#8221; or tray gardens in which moss, plants, and trees are arranged on trays.<br \/>\nThe &#8220;chrysanthemum dolls,&#8221; doll costumes made of crafted chrysanthemum flowers and leaves, are also a hot topic every year, and this year three dolls based on the NHK historical drama &#8220;Kamakura-dono no 13inin&#8221; will be on display.
