During the event, as many as 30,000 lanterns and hanging paper lanterns of various sizes are hung in the shrine grounds, beautifully decorating the summer night sky in golden colors.<br \/>\nIn the main shrine, a ceremony to console the spirits of the gods is held every night. Various dedicated performing arts such as &#8220;Aomori Nebuta&#8221; and &#8220;Edo Gei Kappore&#8221; are also held. Sendai Tanabata decorations dedicated by Miyagata Gokoku Shrine will be displayed at the shrine gate, adding to the festive atmosphere. Those who wish to dedicate lanterns may do so for a fee of 12,000 yen for large lanterns and 3,000 yen for small ones (large lanterns are offered until June 20 every year.
