This event introduces the history and expansion of picture books from the Edo period to the present based on the Chihiro Art Museum&#8217;s collection. The exhibition will introduce how Japanese picture books have changed and developed over the past 400 years from the Edo period to the present day, from traditional picture scrolls, to &#8220;kusa-soshi,&#8221; which were widely read in the Edo period and focused on illustrations, to &#8220;e-magazines&#8221; for children that spread after the Meiji period, to &#8220;ehon&#8221; published during the war, to &#8220;ehon&#8221; that are still read today.
