Japanese sword

A term used to describe the exterior of a Japanese sword. The sword’s ornaments include the scabbard, which holds the blade, the hilt, which holds the stem (the part of the sword inserted into the hilt), and the tsuba, which is attached to the hilt to prevent the hand from slipping on the blade when the hilt is gripped.
