half-width obi (kimono sash)(hanhabaobi)

Japanese clothesyukata (light cotton kimono worn in the summer or used as a bathrobe)clothing

As the name suggests, it is half the width of a regular obi, about 15 cm. It is about 3 to 4 meters long. This type of obi is worn with casual outfits such as tsumugi, komon, yukata, and wool, and often does not require an obiage or obijime. The entire obi is usually decorated with patterns, and some can be reversible by changing the pattern on the front and back sides. Many obis are light and thin, making them easy to tie. They can also be tied in a variety of ways, such as the bunko-knot and ribbon knot.
