日本橋（にほんばし／Nihon-bashi)

橋街歩き重要文化財

中央区日本橋室町1丁目と日本橋1丁目との間を流れるの日本橋川に架かっています（国指定の重要文化財）。1603（慶長8）年にはじめて架けられたとされ、翌年には日本橋を起点に各街道に一里塚を築くことが定められました。江戸市街の中心として多くの人が往来しましたが、焼失・腐朽などのために何度も架け替えが行われています。現在の日本橋は1911（明治44）年に架設されたルネサンス風の石造アーチ橋で、橋の中央には国道の起点として道路元標が設置されています。北詰には東京市道路元標の鉄塔が保存されています。日本橋船着場からはクルーズ船が運航されていて、水上から東京の景観を楽しむこともできます。
