Light up the famous landmarks of the Imperial Palace only during the year-end and New Year’s holidays

The bridges and gates of the Imperial Palace and the outer gardens of the Imperial Palace are illuminated, and the beautiful reflection in the moat is lit up, including the Imperial Palace Nijubashi Bridge, creating a serene nighttime scene with LED lighting.

(1) The lighting will be temporarily suspended during times of tight power supply and demand within the service area of the Tokyo Electric Power Company.
(2) We ask that visitors viewing the lights from the plaza in front of the Imperial Palace and other locations above take measures to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus infection.
(3) When passing through pedestrian crossings and sidewalks around the Imperial Palace, please be very careful of cars, bicycles and runners.
(4) Please note that from 5:00 p.m. on January 1, no entry from Uchibori-dori to the Imperial Palace side is permitted due to preparations for the New Year’s General Sangha on the following day, January 2.
