Experience the charm of the Izu and Ogasawara Islands at Tokyo’s gateway to the islands
This event offers local cuisine from the Izu and Ogasawara Islands, as well as displays and sales of local products. The event will be held for the first time in five years at the Takeshiba Passenger Boat Terminal, the gateway to the Izu and Ogasawara Islands. There will be a special stage for local performing arts, hands-on activities, and many other events for the whole family to enjoy.
The rarely seen island delicacies include mekakatsu burgers and passion sours from Chichijima and Hahajima in the Ogasawara Islands, island zushi and passion juice from Hachijojima, and grilled Ise lobster and deep-fried Utsubo from Izu Oshima. The specialties of Niijima and Shikinejima, Miyake pickles from Miyakejima, Hachijojima shochu from Hachijojima, and many others are also excellent products.
Visitors can also experience activities such as camellia petal dyeing and seashell accessory making. A special live performance by Ai Miyagawa, an artist from Shikinejima, will be held on a special stage.
