Tokyo Resurrection Cathedral was built in 1891 by Nicolai, a missionary who came to Japan at the end of the Edo period, to spread the teachings of the Orthodox Church in Japan. Its name comes from the fact that it remembers the resurrection of Lord Iesus Haristos (Jesus Christ). The main hall is Japan’s largest Byzantine-style structure and the oldest stone structure of national importance. The dome roof is approximately 38 meters high, and the beautiful stained glass decoration is a must-see.
