An exhibit that introduces the basics of Kabuki in an easy-to-understand manner for Kabuki beginners.

Over its more than 400-year history, Kabuki has developed unique techniques of expression in makeup, costume, and acting. These techniques have been refined through a long tradition and remain unique in the world today as a form of theatrical expression that has its own artistic value.
Kabuki has also skillfully woven together well-known theatrical and literary works and actual events to create fascinating stories that stir the hearts of its audiences.
The expressions and stories of kabuki are the crystallization of the wisdom and aesthetic sense of the actors, kyogen authors, craftsmen, and audiences of each era, who worked together to create them.
This exhibition is an introductory exhibition, introducing basic promises and how to appreciate them in an easy-to-understand manner for those who are considering viewing Kabuki for the first time or who would like to learn a little more about Kabuki.
