Koishikawa Korakuen Garden 100th Anniversary of Designation as a Cultural Property

Holding period

2023.02.04 〜 2023.03.10

A variety of events including traditional performing arts and lectures

This event commemorates the 100th anniversary of the designation of Koishikawa Korakuen as a cultural property in March 2023. Performances of Noh plays, Satokagura, and a traditional Chinese performing art, Henshimen show, and commemorative lectures by experts in landscape gardening on the charms of Koishikawa Korakuen will be held (some events will charge a fee).

There are also hands-on activities such as the “Overlapping Stamp Rally,” in which participants visit five of eight locations including Koishikawa Korakuen Garden to complete a picture by stamping the stamps, and the “Children’s History Test,” in which questions related to the past 100 years of Koishikawa Korakuen Garden and the surrounding area are asked of elementary and junior high school students (both free of charge). The Koishikawa Korakuen Garden is a cultural asset. Why don’t you reevaluate the value of Koishikawa Korakuen as a cultural asset garden and experience its new charms?
