Geikyo Rakurago Matsuri 2023 Online x Offline Laughter Duality

Holding period

2023.05.21

Fan appreciation event to get to know the real face of the comedian.

This festival is held once a year at the Geino Kadensha in Nishi-Shinjuku, Shinjuku-ku, where the office of the Rakugo Art Association (commonly known as Geikyo), led by Chairman Shota Harufutei, is located. It is a fan appreciation event in the style of a school festival, and unlike regular yose or performances, it offers a chance to see the real faces of comedians.

The new Corona Disaster was held only online, but in 2023, the real event will return under the title of “Two-fold local event and online event festival. The “Geikyo Matsuri Yose,” a fee-based yose, will feature a rakugo two-man show and a three-man show by popular comic storytellers, a combination not usually seen. In the classrooms, there will be talk events, singing contests, hands-on classes, auctions, autograph rallies, and many other events.
