At the “Hometown Products Exhibition,” Japanese confectionery stores from friendship cities Kakuda City and Kesennuma City in Miyagi Prefecture, Kanazawa City in Ishikawa Prefecture, and Meguro City in Meguro, etc. will be open for purchase, offering local specialties such as pickled plums from Kakuda City, Sanma Tsukudani from Kesennuma City, and Kintsuba from Kanazawa City. At the “Children’s Plaza,” there will be a giant cardboard maze, dancing, super ball scooping, and many other family-friendly activities.
One of the main events, the “Meguro Sanma Festival,” features fresh sanma from Kesennuma City, Miyagi Prefecture, grilled over charcoal and served free of charge with kabosu from Oita Prefecture, and has been the talk of the TV news every year.
