Just like a picture scroll! Recreate the boating experience of the Heian Period

This year is the first time in four years that this event is held as an extension of the Kurumazaki Shrine’s annual festival. The event is a reenactment of the boating rituals of the Heian period (794-1185), when Kiyohara no Yoriyoshi, the god of the shrine, was active, and is held on the Oigamigawa River in Arashiyama.

The traditional performing arts will be performed on board the boats.

*No procession from Kurumaori Shrine & Togetsu Bridge
Specific viewing locations will not be disclosed to prevent the concentration of visitors in certain areas.
