The exhibition focuses on the members of the Asakamiya family who were the masters of this mansion, and reproduces and exhibits the mansion space with furniture and furnishings from the period of the imperial residence. Photographs, video materials, restored original furniture, crafts, furnishings, and costumes will also be on display to introduce visitors to life in those days.

In addition to items from the Asakamiya family’s collection, costumes and artifacts related to the Asakamiya family that are held in various places in Japan will be “returned home” for this exhibition, providing a rare opportunity to see many pieces that are not usually seen in the museum’s collection. This is a rare opportunity for visitors to see a number of works that are not usually seen in the museum’s collection.
