The exhibition will be held at the Theater Museum of Waseda University, Haruki Murakami’s alma mater. Haruki Murakami is known as an incomparable movie buff. We will look at his connection with films through various film-related materials.

The exhibition will touch on the world of “Haruki Murakami x Movies” from many angles, including the cinemas he attended as a student, the scenarios he read, the masterpieces that appear in his essays and novels, and Haruki’s films that have been adapted for the screen. The exhibition will also explore the relationship between Haruki Murakami and film, touching on American literature, which has also been a major influence on Murakami.
