Shiba Park, the oldest park in Tokyo, has a plum grove at the foot of the Shibamaruyama burial mound with about 70 red and white plum trees. They usually begin to bloom gradually around February and are in full bloom by mid-February. During the Plum Blossom Festival, in addition to Nodate (outdoor tea ceremony) and Koto (Japanese harp) performances amid the fragrance of sweet and sour plum blossoms, there are also participatory events such as a guided tour of Shiba Park history by Minato City Tourism Ambassador Mr. Takashi Sawauchi and a Shiba Park Legacy Quiz on the history of Shiba Park. In addition to plum blossoms, daffodils, mitsumata, gardenias, and bokeh are also in bloom.
