This year, too, a Gokai Ceremony will be held at Ikegami Honmonji Temple. The Gokaishiki is a Buddhist memorial service held on October 13, the anniversary of Nichiren Shonin’s death. The ceremony is held at temples throughout Japan, but it is most grandly held at Ikegamihonmonji Temple, the site of Nichiren Shonin’s death.
The Manto-no-Neri (parade of lanterns) parade at night is a must-see event that starts at around 6:00 p.m. on October 12. The parade of about 3,000 people from the main gate to the main hall is a must-see event.
