The National Treasure “Snow Pine” represents the collection of Mitsui Memorial Museum. The theme of this exhibition, centering on this work, is the motifs of people’s wishes for longevity, prosperity of descendants, and wealth and prosperity. Through the display of works from various genres, the exhibition will show how “wishes” were incorporated into works of art.
In conjunction with the New Year, the exhibition also features the Seven Gods of Good Fortune, including Jurojin and Daikokuten, as well as other items related to the Mitsui family that are associated with the Gods of Fortune. The exhibition also focuses on motifs such as cats, gourds, and peonies, which were associated with good fortune in the past, and introduces related works.
