Since last year, TIFF has moved to the Hibiya, Yurakucho, and Ginza areas, and has undergone a major evolution with a new programming director. This year, TIFF will further accelerate its evolution.
The venues for the opening ceremony on Monday, October 24 will be held at the Tokyo Takarazuka Theatre, which will be the first venue for this year’s opening ceremony, In addition to Kadokawa Cinema Yurakucho, CineSwitch Ginza, Human Trust Cinema Yurakucho, TOHO Cinemas Chante, and Yurakucho Yomiuri Hall, the screening theaters will include TOHO Cinemas Hibiya (used only for closing ceremonies last year), Marunouchi TOEI, and Marunouchi Piccadilly. The number of screenings is scheduled to increase as a result of this expansion, and full-scale development will finally begin!
Also, many guests from overseas are scheduled to participate this year. Please look forward to a spectacular film festival that will add color to the autumn in Tokyo!
