Full of charm of Japanese dance and Noh play! Appreciation and hands-on programs with talks

Some people may want to experience traditional performing arts but find it difficult to take the first step, thinking that it seems too expensive or that they do not know how to see it.

For beginners of these traditional performing arts, an event will be held at the Kanze Noh Theater on the third basement floor of GINZA SIX to familiarize them with Japanese dance and Noh drama through talks by first-rate performers, appreciation, and hands-on experience.

On Friday, October 21, “Japanese Dance: Its Various Expressions,” former NHK announcer Seiji Kasai and born-and-bred Ginza-based Japanese dancer Sumiyuki Onoe will give a light-hearted talk, followed by a program of viewing and experiencing dances that capture the essence of a performing art closely related to the origins and development of Japanese dance.

At the “Experience Noh, Ginza Style” on Friday, October 28, we have prepared a small experience of Noh that can be done in the audience seats and a device that makes it easy to understand Noh and Kyogen performances, and you will experience their charm with former top star of Takarazuka, Kei Kijo. These are innovative and fun Ginza-style programs. Both events will be held at the Kanze Noh Theater on the 3rd basement floor of GINZA SIX.
