Works from famous Arita porcelain kilns are displayed along with sweets from Toraya

Arita-yaki has been produced in Arita Town, Saga Prefecture, and the surrounding area since the Edo period. This special exhibition introduces the works of four famous Arita-yaki potteries, Imaemon Kiln, Kakiemon Kiln, Koransha Kiln, and Li Zhuang Kiln, along with confections from Toraya.
Panels explain the four styles essential to the 400-year history of Arita-yaki porcelain. In addition, the central display stand introduces the coordination of each of the four famous kilns that have inherited the traditional styles and Toraya’s sweets. Modern style pottery from the Karansha and Yi Zhuang kilns, as well as beautifully painted Arita-yaki style cookies called “Hakugaku Saika” will also be available for purchase.
Adjacent Toraya Karyo is offering a limited quantity of “Saga Strawberry Shaved Ice” in a dessert bowl created especially for this event.
