A long-established confectionery shop that has operated since the Taisho era in a prime location in front of Ikebukuro Station.The retro, nostalgic interior and product packaging are striking.The first floor sells bread and sweets, the second floor is a café, the third floor is a restaurant, and the ninth floor is a coffee lounge.In addition, there is also Coffee Salon Takase behind the main store.
Each offers a relaxing space where you can forget the city noise, but the ninth-floor coffee lounge is especially recommended.Coffee and desserts enjoyed while overlooking Ikebukuro from above the surrounding area are said to be exceptional.
In addition to the Ikebukuro main store, there are branches in Itabashi, Sugamo, Higashi-Ikebukuro, and Minami-Ikebukuro,and each store directly sells bread and cakes made at the large factory behind the Itabashi store.Their commitment to homemade, handcrafted goods and minimal use of additives has always been a core belief of Takase.Their reasonable prices are another reason for their popularity.
Using the same methods since their founding and carefully selected ingredients, skilled artisans bake each confection by hand, captivating people now and in the past.
History

Founded in 1920 (Taisho 9) in front of Ikebukuro Station.It began as a bakery that made and sold anpan.It is said that the name “Takase” comes from the founder Shigekichi Mori’s hometown, Takase-cho in Kagawa Prefecture.Later, they also began producing Western-style sweets and operating a restaurant.Although the store was destroyed in an air raid and forced to close temporarily, they continue operating in Ikebukuro today.
