Torikadoya

Founded in Taisho Year 1 (1912)

A specialty restaurant for eel and chicken, proud of its secret sauce passed down since its founding.

A specialty restaurant for eel and chicken located near Shimbashi Station since 1912.Fresh domestic eel, carefully selected from wholesalers each morning, is cleaned and then steamed and grilled only after an order is placed. The sauce developed through trial and error is a treasured secret recipe inherited since the restaurant’s founding.Several types of mirin are used, creating a perfect balance of sweetness and spiciness.

Recently, orders for “shiroyaki” — eel grilled without sauce or seasoning — have increased, and when eaten with wasabi soy sauce, it pairs perfectly with the rich fatty eel.It is well-reviewed for delivering a flavor that truly comes from the quality of the ingredients.

Chicken dishes made with fresh local chicken are also one of the signature items. The original technique for grilled chicken thigh has been inherited, removing excess fat and grilling slowly. The eel bowl served at lunchtime is also popular for offering premium eel at a reasonable price.
