The autumn leaves reflected on the surface of the pond are breathtakingly beautiful.

Daitaguro Park in Suginami Ward is popular for its lush greenery, with ginkgo trees over 100 years old, zelkova trees, maple trees, etc. Since 2003, the park has held the “Autumn Foliage Light-up”, illuminating the autumn leaves with light emitted from approximately 110 light bulbs of various sizes. The collaboration of the autumn leaves and the azumaya reflected on the surface of the pond is breathtakingly beautiful. This fantastic sight has spread through TV programs, word of mouth, and SNS, and has now grown into a major event that attracts some 40,000 visitors during the festival period. Originally, Otaguro Park was the residence of Motoo Otaguro, a music critic who is credited with first introducing the names of Debussy and Stravinsky to Japan. After his death, the park was donated to Suginami Ward in accordance with his wishes, and after maintenance, was opened as a circular Japanese garden in 1981. The “Autumn Foliage Light-up” at Ootaguro Park, which is also a guest house in Suginami Ward. It is a 7-minute walk from the south exit of Ogikubo Station. Please come and experience its beauty.
