Watching the Awa Odori dance and drum performances up close from the roadside

Koganei Awa Odori” is held for two days around Musashi Koganei Station. During the festival, the Koganei Kaido Street, the north exit rotary, and the south exit rotary, which has been improved by the construction of the elevated Chuo Line, are transformed into special performance sites. The “ren” (Awa Odori dance troupes) from the local area and the neighboring areas will perform Nagashi Odori (No kumiodori dance will be held this year to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus infection).

In addition to the standard Awa Odori dance, unique styles of Awa Odori dance and drum performances are performed, attracting as many as 50,000 spectators every year. It is also a great opportunity for visitors to freely watch the festival from the roadside. This year, no restaurants will be open to the public to prevent infection.
