November was the month in the Edo period when the ban on monkfish was lifted.

This is the highest quality “Ankimo” from Sutsu, Hokkaido. Thanks to the blessings of the sea, fishermen, and suppliers. At Isegen, we steam and deep-fry ankimo as it is, and use the center of the ankimo for kimosashi. Therefore, it is different from the common round shape.
November is the month when the ban on monkfish was lifted in the Edo period. Please enjoy the first monkfish.
