Based on the wish of the founder, Kahei Yamamoto I, “to let as many people as possible enjoy delicious tea,” the Japanese tea salon Yamamotoyama Fuji-e Tea Salon opened in 2018 (Heisei 30).With the concept of “a tea salon where you can feel the charm of tea and nori intuitively,” it offers carefully selected Japanese teas and dishes featuring nori from all over Japan.The sencha, brewed with great care and no shortcuts, has an exceptional flavor.You can fully enjoy the rich taste of authentic tea with all five senses.The menu includes dishes such as Nori Men and Nori Ju, which use high-quality nori generously, as well as desserts made with tea and nori.The shop also sells original tea leaves, nori, and tea utensils.

History

In 1690 (Genroku 3), the founder Kahei Yamamoto I opened a shop in Nihonbashi as Japan’s first sencha merchant.Since then, the company has spread the taste of sencha throughout Japan.The sixth Kahei invented gyokuro, and the ninth expanded overseas — continuing innovation while preserving tradition.In 1947 (Showa 22), the company also began selling nori, and has since been loved as a renowned store for both tea and nori.

You can enjoy Yamamotoyama’s signature blended tea “Gogumi Tenkaichi,” as well as carefully selected teas from across Japan such as Kawane, Uji, Motoyama, Organic Kirishima, Yame, and Sayama, served in their best condition.A seasonal Japanese sweet from Nihonbashi Nagato, a long-established confectioner that once presented sweets to the Tokugawa family, is served alongside, enhancing the flavors of both the tea and the sweet.
