Otsuna Sushi

Founded in 1875 (Meiji 8)

Its specialty is “Inari Sushi,” offering the same traditional taste since its founding.

It is a long-established sushi shop famous nationwide. Its signature “Inari Sushi” is seasoned with a secret broth that has been added to over many years. It features inverted fried tofu and vinegared rice with a subtle yuzu aroma. On busy days, they sell more than 12,000 pieces.

Because it is located in Roppongi, many celebrities and industry professionals visit. The inverted Inari Sushi is also considered a lucky charm, meaning “to beat the competing TV program,” so it is often used as a gift by TV staff. Takeout is available in boxes up to 100 pieces, with various quantities offered.

They are also known for Edo-style nigiri and sashimi made with fresh seasonal ingredients, and they offer a variety of drinks that pair well with their sushi and dishes.

History

Otsuna Sushi began in 1875 (Meiji 8) when a tea shop was opened in one corner of Roppongi. The Inari Sushi made by the first owner, a woman named Tsuna, quickly became popular. The shop has continued operating in Roppongi since its founding, and the current location was newly reopened in 2017.
