Rethinking the charm and richness of Japanese sweets
The theme of the exhibition is “confectionery,” a part of Japanese food culture. With the cooperation of chef Tomoko Nagao and 78 confectionery stores from all over Japan, including Eitaro Sohonshiki, Funabashiya, Taiyaki Wakaba, and Shogoin Yatsuhashi Sohonten, approximately 80 types of sweets with regional characteristics, such as dorayaki and rice crackers, are selected and their creators’ thoughts are conveyed using photographs and videos.
During the event, the Salon on the 6th floor will offer a “Japanese sweets and tea set” that includes several types of sweets on display and tea selected by Mr. Nagao. Come and experience the richness and charm of these sweets made with simple ingredients and eaten on a daily basis. *Sweets are not for sale.
