The Kanda Gigyosai is held every year on Kanda Izusefudo-dori Street. With the theme of “Showa, Humanity, Alleys, and Old Men,” popular events such as izakaya (Japanese-style pub) tours are a big hit. If you go, delicious sake and food await you. The main event is the “Kanda Street Party,” a street party held on a closed street under the title of “Adult Fair. Many stalls will be lined up, and there will be a variety of fun activities such as a live stage for success in life, a visit to a shrine by a future sumo wrestler, and a fortune drawing for success in life. There will also be a lucky draw, and if you win the lottery, you are sure to be successful in your future career!

■Future wrestlers are coming!
Sumo clubs from universities in the area will gather to pray for the success of wrestlers at the Dezase Fudo Temple, named after a wrestler who prayed there and became a yokozuna (grand champion). In addition to the powerful yomata and clash practice, the authentic “yagura dai-daiko” will be performed by Mr. Kotoji, a former yagura dai-dai drummer of the Japan Sumo Association!

A tatami room made of bamboo and tatami mats at the Kanda Festival’s sake brewery. Let’s drink on the chabudai! There are also bamboo art and bamboo play equipment!
