The 30th Omiya Hachimangu “Suginami Hanagasa Festival” held

Summit Corporation and Omiya Hachiman Shrine will hold the 30th Omiya Hachiman Shrine “Suginami Hanagasa Festival” on Saturday, December 9, 2023.
This festival was started in 1990 (Heisei 2) as a cultural activity and a contribution to the local community where the headquarters is located, borrowing the approach to Omiya Hachimangu Shrine, together with local government organizations, volunteer groups, shopping associations, and private companies, and has become a local early winter tradition welcoming many visitors. On the day of the event, we will make efforts to promote environmentally friendly trash recycling activities by distributing original eco bags and separating and collecting trash generated at the venue.
In addition, Chinese cabbage planted with customers and harvested by employees at Summit Farm in Tambayama Village, Yamanashi Prefecture, will be distributed for charity.

Main Events

(1) Hanagasa Odori Parade (about 200 people in total)
Our president and other executives will join dancers from the Tokyo Hanagasa Association, local shopping associations, and business partners in a hanagasa dance parade through the Nishi-Nagafuku shopping district and Omotesando of Omiya Hachiman Shrine. To make it easy for the general public to jump in and join the dance, placards saying “jump-in welcome” and in-field announcements will be made to appeal to the public.

(2) Charity distribution
Donation boxes are placed at each charity distribution corner, and all collected donations are donated to the Suginami Ward Council of Social Welfare every year (amount of donation in ’19: 564,727 yen). (Donation amount in ’19: 564,727 yen)

Oden (approx. 3,000 servings)
Pork buns (approx. 2,000)
(4) Lamb loin steak (approx. 2,000 servings)
(5) Curry (approx. 1,500 servings)
6) Yamagata local sake (approx. 1,000 cups)
(7) Draft beer (approx. 500 pints)

(3) Food, beverage and goods sales
Stalls (about 50 stores) of our company and other suppliers who cooperate with this festival will line the Omotesando of Omiya Hachimangu Shrine and offer their products at special prices. In particular, JA Zen-Noh Yamagata’s “Yamagata Product Sale” has been well received every year.
