Kimuraya Main Store

Founded in Keio 4 (1868)

Ningyoyaki shaped after Asakusa landmarks is a specialty of Nakamise Street

The oldest ningyoyaki shop in Asakusa. Ningyoyaki created by the first owner uses four molds inspired by Asakusa: the lantern of Kaminarimon, Raijin, the five-story pagoda, and a dove. The standard item is “with red bean filling,” using batter made from flour and eggs filled with smooth red bean paste, but “without red bean filling” is also available for those who do not prefer red bean paste or sweets.Craftsmen bake each piece right at the storefront, so it is recommended to sit on a nearby bench and enjoy them freshly baked. They keep for one week at room temperature, making them great Asakusa souvenirs. In addition to ningyoyaki, they also offer senbei and more, with mail order available by phone or fax.
