A specialty lacquerware store offering a variety of items, mainly bowls and plates.With the concept “Lacquerware close to you, more enjoyable,” they offer original lacquerware that preserves tradition while adapting to changing lifestyles.Not only tableware, but also stationery that brightens desks and accessories that fit everyday wear, with about 800 items available at the Daikanyama store.Lacquerware, known for being durable and auspicious, is also popular as a wedding gift.Even after years of use, if colors fade or scratches appear, repairs like re-lacquering can be requested, allowing long-term attachment.They also actively collaborate with international brands such as chocolate maker “GODIVA” and luxury watch and jewelry brand “Chopard.”

History

The founder, Takunosuke Yamada, trained at a lacquerware shop in Kyoto and founded “Yamada Lacquerware Store” in Tokyo Nihonbashi in Taisho 8 (1919).At that time, Tokyo had many practical and rough lacquerware, and it is said he founded the store to spread the charm of Kyoto lacquerware.In Heisei 6 (1994), the third generation moved the store to Tokyo Daikanyama to let younger people see lacquerware and to propose a lifestyle through it.
