Tamuracho Kimuraya Honten

Founded in Meiji 33 (1900)

The famous banana cake loved by many cultural figures

A Western-style confectionery shop founded in 1900, with its main store located in front of Uchisaiwaicho Station. In addition to the main store, there is an atelier that serves as a factory-direct shop and a Hibiya Fort Tower branch.

Because there are many TV stations and theaters nearby, famous people from various fields often stop by to buy backstage gifts. The most popular item is the banana cake, a long-selling product that has been loved by many cultural figures.

Their viennoiseries (sweet breads) and Western-style sweets are all original flavors made in-house. The display cases are filled with classic cakes and European-style pastries, making it hard to choose just one. They also sell cookies, baked sweets, and bread from Kimuraya Sohonten, all known for reliable quality and reasonable prices.

History

In Meiji 33 (1900), it split from Ginza Kimuraya and became independent as a bread-making and retail shop, opening in Shiba Sakurada Hongomachi (now Shinbashi 1-chome). Later, in Taisho 9 (1920), a café section was added to promote bread consumption. In Showa 8 (1933), Western-style meals began to be served on the second floor of the main store.
