Shiseido Parlour Ginza Main Store

Founded in Meiji 35 (1902)

A Ginza landmark where you can enjoy gifts, café time, and meals all in one place.

With over 120 years of history, it is a Western-style restaurant and confectionery shop standing on Ginza’s main street. The current Tokyo Ginza Shiseido Building was completed in 2001 and designed by Spanish architect Ricardo Bofill, and its refined exterior stands out prominently in the Ginza cityscape.

The first-floor shop offers sparkling Western sweets, including the famous Hanatsubaki Biscuits and cheesecakes. Many customers buy them not only for home use but also as gifts, especially the Ginza Main Store exclusive items, which are popular as Tokyo souvenirs.

The third floor is the Salon de Café, where you can enjoy light meals such as cakes, parfaits, and sandwiches. The red walls and pink interior create a special atmosphere. It is always lively with people stopping by during shopping, or relaxing after work since alcohol is also available.

On the fourth and fifth floors, you can enjoy classic Western cuisine. Secret recipes passed down from chefs since the restaurant opened—such as beef curry rice and meat croquettes—have impressed many cultural figures and continue to captivate them.

Each part of the establishment cherishes tradition while continuing to innovate, constantly pursuing authenticity, high quality, and deliciousness to create new products.

History

It opened in 1902 inside the Shiseido Pharmacy in Izumomachi 1 (now Ginza 8-chome) as Japan’s first “soda fountain,” selling soda water and ice cream. It was renovated in 1928 as the “Shiseido Ice Cream Parlour,” becoming a restaurant offering authentic Western cuisine. The current name was adopted in 1954.
